![]() sorry for the lack of updates. ever since i started my new job, karma's been out to get me. my first day of work, i had to leave at noon for an emergency root canal. from what i understand, my body was rejecting my tooth as it no longer recognized it as being part of my body. well, the extremely painful procedure was unsuccessful and that friday i had to have the tooth extracted. the next tuesday, my job flew me to edmonton for a full-day meeting on wednesday. we had just finished lunch and were getting back into the unbearably boring and irrelevant (to me) discussions when my throat began to feel very painful. quite suddenly, i could feel my sinuses begin to fill ad the pressure was building. my eyes were burning. i got up to go to the washroom, knowing that it would soon be my turn in the meeting to deliver a report. i tried blowing my nose to clear my sinuses some, but the conjestion was too intense. I looked in the mirror and noticed that my eyes were very red and starting to swell. i recognized the symptoms as being an allergic reaction, but i have no known allergies. i went back to the meeting, discussions were continuing. i waited probably thirty seconds before whispering to the girl next to me that i was having an allergy attack and had to leave. i suppose for the sakeness of brevity, i will summarize from this point and just say that the ambulance was called, my face swelled so severely that i couldn't open my eyes, i spent hours in the hospital before some steroids and an epipen finally made the swelling decrease enough that the doctor would release me. we had a flight to catch - the original flight missed, we had rebooked on the last flight back to McMurray. i think the attack was precipitated by red grapes. i now carry an epipen with me because i was told the next attack would be worse. if i had acted differently then would we be together now? |
